The MEL-8704R-REM-SDD has the same features as the basic Mel Meter. However, in addition to detecting EMF and ambient temperature changes, it has a REM feature (Radiating EM Field) and an SDD feature (Shadow Deviation Detection) with an audible alarm.
How Does it Work?
When the REM feature is activated, it emits an independent EM field around the mini telescopic antenna. When the EM field is distorted or disturbed, the LED lights and sound will go off. The lights and sound are proportional to the strength of the disturbance. This REM feature is not influenced by radio waves, AC/DC EMFs or other influences that can lead to false positives. The SDD (Shadow Detection Circuit) is self-calibrating and the alarm provides ascending and descending tones based on intensity.
How to Use
The MEL-8704R-REM-SDD can be used either hand-held or by placing on a non-conductive surface. If using as a hand-held device, be careful to keep fingers towards the bottom of the instrument.
