We’re excited to reveal the latest winner of our April Parapic Contest!
This eerie shot was snapped at Lighthouse Park and reveals a mysterious, ghostly shape hovering near the old swing sets. Take a closer look and you’ll notice a wispy silhouette -right in the same spot where countless investigators and tour guests have felt an unseen presence watching them over the years.

These swings are no stranger to paranormal tales. Many of our guests have witnessed them moving on calm nights, or heard faint laughter in the park. The legend ties back to the tragic tale of the Pittee sisters, who lost their lives in an accident while the St. Augustine Lighthouse was being built. It’s widely believed their playful spirits linger on the property, and some say they’re behind the activity near the swings. Interestingly, this winning photo matches other ghostly images captured in the same spot over time. Pure chance -or the Pittee girls reaching out once more?
If you’re ready to snap your own paranormal proof, join us for an Everdark Express tour and ride our Shadow Shuttle to St. Augustine’s most haunted places -or test your courage on a Dead Walk through the city’s storied streets. Don’t forget your camera -you never know what may appear in your frame! If your picture makes the cut for our next Parapic Contest, you’ll earn great ghost hunting equipment!
A huge congratulations to this month’s winner, and thanks to everyone who shared their shots. Keep those lenses focused -the spirits of St. Augustine are always ready for their close-up!
