GhoSt Augustine has carried the K2 meter since we opened up for business in 2001. We discovered, on our Paranormal Investigative tour, how remarkable it is for detecting paranormal activity. This amazing ghost meter was sold in the store for years. In 2004 we were told by K2’s manufacturer that sadly, the K2 Meter was going to be taken out of product. It was originally manufactured to discover higher than normal EMF fields for safety purposes. GhoSt Augustine believed so much in the K2 meter for paranormal research that in exchange for becoming its exclusive distributor we would take on the entire financial investment and risk for its production. It was not until 2007 the K2 EMF meter became internationally famous. It astonished the entire paranormal community, including TAPS Jason & Grant, when the K2 meter was responding with intelligent EMF spikes to questions in the SyFy Channel’s GHOST HUNTERS episode investigating the Sharon Tate murder.
Unfortunately there are counterfeit K2 Meters made in China that are being sold on various on-line marketplaces including amazon, e-bay and even in ghost hunter stores on-line. And they are being marketed as if it is the real thing. A lot of people are getting ripped off, receiving a horrible copy of the K2. These are poorly made replicas that are not reliable or sturdy like the real K2 Meter. You can tell an authentic meter from a fake one several different ways. The most obvious way is the label. The authentic K2 has a UV reactive label that looks like the label in our photo. The counterfeit K2 Meter has copied an older K2 label that says K-II USA on the label. Another way to know is that the authentic K2 Meter will always be shipped from the USA. It will never be shipped from China or anywhere overseas. Watch my video below for in-depth knowledge on how to spot an authentic K2 from a fake!
