There are so many ways to capture EVPs. The best way, well that depends on each individual investigator. However, it seems that it is a huge plus to have EVPs come through not only with voice but in text form, making it harder for EVPs to slip by. The Polterscript was designed exactly for that purpose – capturing them in text.
