Thermal Imaging Camera
The FLUS IR-895 is our favorite Thermal Camera for paranormal investigations. It takes photos of the heat/cold image as relayed by the screen. You can download the images to analyze and use as potential paranormal evidence.
How Does it Work?
Thermal Imager Cameras are designed to detect hot and cold spots during your investigation by translating infrared radiation into a visible image in various colors relating to their temperature. Warmer ones in red and colder ones in blue. By looking at the screen of the handheld device, you can determine if the temperature change is caused by the spirit world or something you can explain - like for instance a person, animal, a heater or an air conditioner vent. The device pics up thermal radiation and converts that data in to pictures in different colors. Night vision cameras are completely different since they magnify light and do not display temperatures as images.
How is it used for Paranormal Research?
It's believed that the temperature signature of an entity can be seen on the screen of a Thermal Cam - making what is invisible to the human eye visible as a temperature deviation in the cam display.
You can use this together with other equipment to get further proof of the paranormal. For example, if you have a K2 Meter spiking and see a cold spot on the thermal cam display, then you can capture it on video and use as visual evidence showing correlation between two pieces of equipment simultaneously registering an anomaly.
