The Dead Bell

This beautiful hotel reception style bell intrigues spirits and alerts you to their presence. The wooden case and shiny bell will attract spirits, and the programmable sensitivity will let you know if a spirit is nearby.

How Does it Work?

The Dead Bell senses EMF fluctuations which will trigger the bell. This will pick up on "natural" EMF- phones and such will have minimal impact on the Dead Bell.

How to Use

Turn on the Dead Bell by turning the knob on the front clockwise.  Use this same knob to adjust sensitivity. The further right the knob is turned, the more sensitive it is. Charge the Dead Bell by using the included cord.

Bell's reaction is sensitive.

I have used various EMFs as a ghost hunter in Japan, but none of the EMFs I have used so far have responded very often, but the Dead Bell responds well. I tried using a hair dryer to see if it could measure electromagnetic waves, and it seemed to measure EMF on the left side and front of the main unit. When I brought a magnet close to it, the bell would strike repeatedly, so I think it uses a magnetic sensor to measure EMF, but it responds properly to equipment that generates electromagnetic waves without using a magnet, and in that case it doesn't strike repeatedly. I'm not familiar with mechanical engineering, so I can't say for sure, but I think it measures electromagnetic waves properly. However, I feel like it overreacts compared to other EMF devices. I set the sensitivity to the lowest setting when using the Dead Bell, but it still responds well compared to other EMF devices, so I think the sensitivity of the Dead Bell itself is set quite sensitive. I often hold fixed-point live performances with Haunted Doll, and I think it responds more than 10 times in about half a day. Even with the KII EMF, it only responds once a month, so I think you can understand how often it reacts. Some models of REM PODs respond well to them, but there is not much difference in the performance of the equipment itself, so the difference between these phenomena may be that spirits have preferences for each equipment and like the dead bell, so they may ring it often. Even if the dead bell responds frequently, if you set the sensitivity to the lowest setting during outdoor surveys, there may be no response even after three hours, so whether you believe in ghost hunting equipment or not is ultimately up to the individual. One thing that can be said for sure is that many viewers, both American and Japanese, who like the dead bell's response get excited. So there is no doubt that it is an EMF that combines entertainment value.
